How did you get started in the video and meeting production business?
When I was a sophomore majoring in Speech Communications at West Chester University, I worked part-time for a production company that specialized in corporate video work.  Over the years I gained experience in the field as a Production Assistant, TelePrompter Operator, Grip, Editor, Sound Technician, Camera Operator, Assistant Director... I definitely worked my way through the ranks.  It was great experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.  It really gave me a wonderful foundation for building my career.

Why specialize in corporate work?
George Burns once said that you should fall in love with what you are going to do for a living.  That's what I did.  The corporate environment IS where I belong.  I love the variety of my work... learnIng about new things... meeting new people... tackling interesting challenges... taking care of the tiniest of details.  I have friends in the business who work on feature fIlms, or specialize in television news or sports programming.  But for me, corporate videos and meetings are my passion.  I can't imagine doing anything else.

If I were a client, what could I expect from VA Productions?
You can expect the total commitment of our energy, creativity, resources and spirit to your project.  I give everything I have to every client, and that's what I demand from the people who work for us.  We don't do anything halfway... that's not the way we operate.  Our clients deserve the best we have to offer, and that's what we deliver - nothing less.

So basically, you're very service-oriented.
It goes beyond that.  It's more than just delivering the kind of service the client expects.  Our aim is to deliver more than is expected in every phase of every project.  I've heard It said that qualIty In a servIce or product is not what you put into it... it's what the customer gets out of it.  I agree.  At VA Productions, we have a solid track record for making sure our clients get the highest quality out of every project we do, whether it's a video production or a meeting.

What is it about the audio/visual business that motivates you?
To me, coordinating all of the elements of a meeting and producing a seamless, dynamic event is extremely satisfying.  Additionally, it's knowing I have all of these talented people on my team and state-of-the-art equipment in my inventory, but it's up to me to pull it all together and make it work... that's what motivates me.

So your side of the business is pretty much nuts and bolts.
Not at all.  There's a great deal of creativity involved in putting together a really dynamic, memorable meeting.  Once I understand my client's goals and objectives, I work with them to put together a complete audio/visual plan that will help meet those goals and objectives.  What sound system will work best in the meeting environment?  How can I design the lighting package for optimum effect?  How can I help reach the audience with the right message?  What room layout will work best?  How can I help provide continuity to the meeting?  The list goes on and on.

It sounds like you only do big-budget meetings.
We do plenty of those, but the fact is our clients get the same attention to detail - the same creative energy - and the same commitment to excellence for any meeting of any size.  We have the utmost respect for our clients' objectives, expectations - and budgets.  No matter what size meeting we're working on, our goal is the same:  to deliver more value and higher quality than our clients expect.  That's our mission... and our promise.

You sound confident.
I've done hundreds of meetings.  I have complete confidence in my ability to accomplish our mission and deliver on our promise.  I know what It takes to produce and support outstandIng meetIngs and I give my very best effort to every project.  JFK once said "things do not happen, things are made to happen."  I believe that, and my years of experience have shown it to be true.
